The Society For Cryobiology was founded in 1964 to bring together those from the biological, medical and physical sciences who have a common interest in cryobiology. The purpose of The Society is to promote scientific research in cryobiology and improve the understanding in this field. The society wants to help increase awareness of cryobiology and show the benefits of this to mankind.

The Society for Low Temperature Biology (SLTB) was founded in 1964 and became Registered Charytin 2001 (Charity Commission for England & Wales) with the purpose of promoting research into cryobiology.  Cryobiology, Inc. was founded in 1989 by a PhD lab director in Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART). They are a sperm donor society who saw the need for reliably high quality, tested and quarantined anonymous donor sperm samples. The majority of their donors are students at local universities who collect samples in the program for about one year. They have very high standards for acceptance into the donor program; less then 10% of all potential donors are accepted |
