Welcome to our Cryobiology web page. Cryobiology is the branch of biology that studies the effects of low temperatures on living things. The word Cryobiology came from the greek words "cryo"=cold , "bios"=life, and "logos"= science. The physical principles of cryobiology are universal, which provides some coherence to the field, but the biosphere contains many surprises and twists, which adds endless fascination.
